It (1990)
Member Rating:
Originally titled Stephen King's It, this two-part TV movie first aired on November 18 and 20, 1990. The story starts in Maine, where a small child is lured into the hands of what audiences everywhere can be assured is one mean clown. The 30-year struggle against an evil supernatural force that masquerades as a circus clown named Pennywise (Tim Curry) begins in 1960 and spans until 1990. Featured are a group of six young men and one young woman who call themselves "the lucky seven" and are the unfortunate targets of Pennywise from pre-adolescence into their mid-forties. The lucky seven emerge physically intact but emotionally scathed after their first battle with Pennywise -- who is a self-labeled "eater of worlds...and children." When Pennywise returns 30 years later, the seven are forced to remember their terrifying past and faced with the prospect of destroying him once and for all. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

I remember being soo scared by this movie when I was a kid, so I wanted to watch it again. I still enjoyed it and "It" is still as creepy as ever! Now I want to re-read the book!

This movie is definitely outdated when it comes to special effects, but the movie itself was good. It is about what you would expect from a TV movie. The acting was spotty at times, but overall it was a creepy, thrilling adventure.

Watched this just after finishing the novel and was suprised to see what a good adaptaion It was. I normally cringe at the the things changed in kings work to adapt them to film but overall It stuck to the basic story. I recommend either watching this movie on a lazy sunday or in two parts due to Its length. Alot of peoplesaw this movie when they were younger and remember it as scarier than It actually is.So if your expecting to be scared I say read Kings book first thats where the real scares are.

This had to be one of the worst movies I have ever suffered through. It's 3 hours of my life I will never get back! The acting was horrible, and there was not one scary moment, but rather stupid. I read the book first and "It" was great.

It was LONG, had WAY to many characters, it was real LONG, had way to many flashbacks, wasn't scarey, ending stunk, and did I mention it was REALLY LONG!

I have to agree with others..........this was not a movie to keep you there for 3+ hours. Sorry, but Stephen King dumped this one!
