Disney and Pixar join forces for this computer-animated tale about a wide-eyed robot who travels to the deepest reaches of outer space in search of a newfound friend. The year is 2700, and planet Earth has long been uninhabitable. For hundreds of years, WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) has been taking out the trash, and collecting precious knick-knacks in order to stave off the boredom of his dreary routine. Little does WALL-E realize that he has recently stumbled onto a secret that could save planet Earth, and once again make the ravaged planet safe for all humankind. When highly advanced search robot EVE makes friends with WALL-E and realizes the value of his remarkable discovery, she excitedly races back to let the humans know that there's hope for their home planet after all. But after centuries alone in space, WALL-E can't stand the thought of losing the only friend he's ever known, and eagerly follows her into the deepest reaches of space on the adventure of a lifetime. Along the way, the friendly trash-collecting robot who has always known what he was made for gradually begins to understand what he was meant for. Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton returns to the helm for this family-friendly sci-fi adventure featuring the voices of Fred Willard, Jeff Garlin, and Ben Burtt. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I LOVED this movie. I thought it was so cute. This coming from a hardcore SciFi fanatic. The lack of dialogue between the robots at first was a little disconcerting, but, what do you know, I had to use my interpretation skills to follow along. And that was a good thing. Very, very cute. I highly recommend it.

I feel like the last person to have seen this movie, but if anyone has not, I enjoyed and recommend it. It's charming, funny (and a little bit depressing). Without giving away the ending, I'm skeptical of it and disagree with the newcomers' delight at what's in store for them. Amazing animation. Check out the "bonus" piece on Building from the Sound Up.

GREAT movie. Loved it. Not just for kids. Feels almost like there's going to be a message, but the story is outshines it. Not just for kids.

The movie is not just for kids as it has an excellent message for adults. In case anyone thinks that it is fanciful that one corporation could end up owning and controlling everything in our daily lives, all we need to examine is how few corporations own more of our economy now than they did just 10 years ago. This movie is wonderfully entertaining but there is a warning in the message that we should take note of.

I'm kind of burned out on these computer-animated movies, but this was a great one. I was really surprised. Great look, strong story.

I was disappointed in this movie. If your children are of age to understand and charge on an issue, then unless you want them to become environmental, tree hugging, fanatics don not let them watch this. Educating is one think but scaring is another. Sure it was a visually enjoyable Pixar project but the subject matter was conveyed in a dangerous way. Watch with caution.
