Hawaii (2005) Reviews

Hawaii (2005)
Member Rating:
The ambience release HD Window: Hawaii caters to devotees of Honolulu, Oahu and Waikiki by providing a picturesque montage of scenery from the U.S.'s fiftieth state. The images can be left running on the viewer's television screen, to provide a pleasant backdrop for any activity. The program is designed to run on both high-definition (HD) and standard DVD players. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

11 Mistakes: 1) "HD Window: Hawaii" is misnamed. It only contains scenes of Oahu ignoring the other 7 major islands of the 50th State. 2) It concentrates on Oahu but fails since its scope is so narrow focusing mostly on uninhabited beaches ignoring most of the major sites of the island. 3) There are scores of beaches on Oahu but the beach scenes become repetitive. 4) This Blu-Ray only gave me a 480i signal - not HD quality. 5) You can't play it on a DVD player as stated. 6) The release notes state that it, "caters to devotees of Honolulu...and Waikiki" but there are only two scenes of that area. 7) There are no scenes of water athletes or locals hanging loose. 8) There is zero island music. 9) The scenes are beautiful but the shots are static and last for minutes changing too slowly. 10) There are no helicopter or remote shots an enthusiast couldn't shoot themselves. 11) There is no subtitle option to tell you what you're looking at. Watching HDWH won't help you plan your vacation.

I rented this disc so that I could scenes of Hawaii in HD. It is not in HD. It is SD content written to a bluray disc. I suggest getting the Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Bluray.
