The year is 2008 and something is terrorizing the streets of London, leaving numerous heartless corpses behind. Fortunately detective Harley Stone (Rutger Hauer) is on the case and discovers that the murderous monster behind the killings is just that. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
It's a b-grade film -- the special effects on the monster are really, really bad, and there's some gore with the victims -- but Rutger Hauer is a riot, and watch for Neil Duncan to steal most every scene he's in. Duncan's scene with Hauer, when they go get some bigger guns, should be required viewing for every scifi fan!
Some great lines, good suspense, great characterization by Hauer, more suspense than gore. Oh did I mention young Kim Catrell? This film deleivers, it is a keeper.
I remember seeing this movie at the Theater back in 1992, it was out for one week. Go figure, but if you like Rutger Hauer, this is a must see movie. The action is pretty good but the horror aspect is dead on. Great rental for anybody who is into a movie that matches Sci-Fi with a good bit of horror. Enjoy!
Possibly the most hard-core guy movie ever, Rutger Hauer hunts down a serial killer monster that looks like a real life comparrison to Venom from the spiderman series. Lots of big guns, coffee, chocolate, and violence! Fun for all hard core movie watchers!
One of the greatest unsung, Sci-fi cop movies made...There is solid acting by Hauer and Catrall ,and is supported by several veteran British actors. They should have placed it a little farther into the future and given some origin storyline on the killer/beast.That would have been a nice touch . Other than those quips, this A movie(not B, it was in theaters..) has got it all pretty much.Really good "Alien" like special FX, cool guns , some skin, and Rutgers grittiness make this movie one I can watch over and over again. :)
