An emerging journalist (Jesse Eisenberg), an experienced cameraman (Terrence Howard), and a discredited reporter (Richard Gere) find their bold plan to capture Bosnia's top war criminal quickly spiraling out of control when a UN representative mistakes them for a CIA hit squad in a light-hearted thriller inspired by Scott Anderson's popular Esquire article. The Weinstein Company provides stateside distribution for a film written and directed by Richard Shepard (The Matador). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I really like the story. A fascinating and believable theory about why the war criminals remain at large. But the movie left me wanting something else. The acting was great (including the homegrown actors who were superb) -- but I would not have cast RG in the lead role... nor would I have made him come off as such a selfish manipulator. Perhaps the character is true to the reality -- but the director/screenwriter (whoever makes this call) bent the reality anyway, so why not make Simon into a more heroic and uplifting character(?). So close !

I like the story. I mostly liked the believable theory about why some big criminals remain at large. The move was just good but it could have been great.

Good show. Nothing profound but entertaining and nicely written. It moves, and the acting is good. It's not a waste of money to rent this movie.

I thought this was a great movie and loved the way it unfolded. Great acting for Gere & Howard.

I loved this movie so much! Richard Gere was outstanding, as was Terrence Howard and the rest of the cast. The story was excellent, and I found nothing to prompt a rating less than five stars!

People, this is a must see movie. It is excellent! Not that we all need to know what is going on around the World but better informed than not. This movie scares me. Could it be the way things are done? I sure hope not. Acting is superb, directing excellent.

Illogical action movie which does not create excitement. Mr. Gere's acting is just average.

Despite the fact that his film is, in a couple of places, a bit uneven, I really liked it anyway - it details insane but true events that every American should know about, and it does it with some great gallows humor and keen insight. It shows how governments REALLY work, and why. (It's defintely worth reading the original Esquire Magazine article which inspired the film, in the Special Features section.) Between "Hotel Rwanda" and this gem, one can truly get the utter idiotic futility and dangerous corruption of the UN. Cynics of the world - rejoice! The truth may be ultimately depressing, but this movie definitely vindicated all us "government-conspiracy nuts" who knew despicable stuff like this has been happening for decades, but no one would pay attention, because everyone "knew" we were total wack-jobs, deserving of the tinfoil hats worn by the MindHead volk in one of my favorite movies of all time, "Bowfinger."
