This movie was a wonderful surprise to me It gave me a lot of history of Rameses 11 . It was colorful and easily understood..There were a lot of human dimensions to the story.. The piece on the Greek foot soldier gave the hardships of the heavy armour and the other struggles that the foot soldier faced in a comical way that took the dryness out of the information. .Imagine a slave being hired to carry some of the armour to battrle for his master..

Learning about the real battle of the 300 and the the real Spartacus was very enjoyable and educational as well.

Disappointing to say the least. The history is intriguing but the "video game graphics" are a joke. Not up to the History Channel standards I am so used to watching.

Their claim of using latest graphics technology to simulate battles fall way too short. Their simulation use late 80's graphics. There also was some embellishing of history. However, it is engaging and I a saw all the episodes. Maybe graphics gets better in later DVDs.

I love this series, the crew did a great job of reinacting the details of the battle. Their background into the personages that were involved.

About 4-5 episodes per disc, about 40 minutes each. They are kinda fun to watch, but so short there really isn't much substance. It has video game reinactments that are cute, but they are polygon rendered and kinda silly in way. Its a neat idea, but the technology needs more updating before its really worthy of a serious attempt at battle recreation. Still, its enjoyable, but the history is brief and very shallow. The game engine is from the TOTAL WAR series of video games, which are fun to play but I'm not sure I'd call them historically accurate.
