4 out of 5 people found this review helpful Blockbuster seems to have their head up their butt on this one. Although the sleeve and picture advertise the Newhart, this is really the Bob Newhart show, a completely different series. Discs 2 and 3 are correct, but the first one is not. Although I wrote in to correct the error, they send out another wrong disc 1. This tells me that probably all the disc ones are in error. Not that the other series was bad-its just not what was ordered, or wanted. I was looking forward to seeing the first shows in the set.
2 out of 2 people found this review helpful In my opinion this series, Newhart, is far superior to the the original Bob Newhart Show. There is a much larger collection of quirky characters, and it is very funny. My family, including three college kids, love it. We all thought that the original series was just so-so.
3 out of 4 people found this review helpful You forget how great some of these shows were. The Bob Newhart shows were really great. I believe they were originally shown on Monday Evening along with Mary Tyler Moore and Carol Burnett. What a great lineup. I don't think we have anything that good today except Seinfeld reruns.
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful The problem mentioned by Sidney A. in the first member review has been corrected. I received the correct version when I received disc 1. That aside, this has the wit of the Bob Newhart show, but is charming to boot. This series hearkens back to a simpler time in American life, and, actually, American television.

0 out of 0 people found this review helpful If you are too young to remember Bob Newhart, you should rent Dics one, Season one. It is as funny today as it was years ago. I can tell you though that the character Kirk Devane will really grate at you. He's a piece of work. Newhart and Tom Poston are real TV classics. Hope you youngns get to know these guys.
