Colditz is a drama about a prison, used to hold war prisoners in the II WWar. It is a riveting, absorbing, and well done film. Should you rent it? Yes do so.

This was hard for me to get into. It also didn't help that it was really long. Overall not bad.

A good WWII POW movie from British viewpoint, but often difficult to understand - with no English captions available. Some of the escape scenes were surprisingly claustrophobic for the viewer. PG except for a hint of sexual activity. Contrary to other reviews, I did not view the villainy as an Irish trait, and there were some POW camps where American/British/Canadian POWs had better treatment..

Better than expected. Was expecting an escape, war, action movie, but this had that along with a bit of romance/drama. Enough to keep most women interested as well. Two scenes of unnecessary gratuitous nudity and a little language were the only negatives.

This was pretty good drama, and interesting. Could have happened - the love story part, you never know. I enjoyed this movie, especially the prison scenes of trying to escape. I recommend this movie.

This is as anti-Irish a movie as you can get. The villain in this movie is an Irish soldier who is cowardly while war loving, scheming, traitorous, murderer, dishonest, selfish etc...... Even the Nazi's who run the camp are shown as decent people. The prisoners repeatedly try to escape and when the get caught they are only put in solitary for 1 month and then the Germans are very sympathetic towards them, like Hogan's heroes. Completely opposite of the true events in history of the Nazi's. The prisoners are even fed well, and are allowed to play all the time, with even the German guards easily manipulated to help the prisoners by giving them what they want. Complete fantasy. However the main story is the villainous nature of the Irish guy and the courageous, honorable nature of the other English guys. I am not even Irish and now I am beginning to understand why the Irish don't like the English.
