My husband and I both loved this movie...the beautiful art, scenery, and casting. Nobody does history better than the British.

The palette of this film is magnificent and the screenwriting from Monet's point of view quite well done. Informative, dramatic, humourous -- most of all colorful miniseries that aptly documents the works & lives of the Impressionists. An art lover's delight!

I love art and especially the "Impressionists" period. This movie has a lot of eye candy for somebody like me. The outdoor nature scenes with shadowed sunlight is beautiful. The stories of these artists and their struggles is worth watching. They had to put up with years of rejection and poverty before they were appreciated.

I watched this with my 12 and 13 year old kids and we all enjoyed it very much. Richard Armitage as Monet was perfectly cast. Watching the performances made these artists truly come alive for each of us and seeing the actual places and situations which are captured in these famously recognizable paintings was fantastic. I took an art history class in college and never have I found the works and the artists so intriguing, courageous, and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about these artists who were truly ahead of their time.
