My mom and I were bored to tears during the movie and were further disappointed by the ending. I wish I had rented 'Diary of the Dead' last night instead of this. I'm assuming that would have probably been scarier and more interesting. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No | ||

Read More Compared to Fessenden's WENDIGO, this is quite an improvement. It's a global warming story, naturally, but he also throws in some leftover native mythology from that movie (those familiar with Algernon Blackwood's short story "The Wendigo" will get some of the allusions and references). It's a well-acted cautionary tale, helped tremendously by shooting on location. But "Scariest Movie of the Year"?!? Hardly. Halfway creepy on occasion, but never really scary. Read More If you are truly "scared" by the Marxist/Obama-Environmentalist world-view, then this is the film for you. If you are a realist, have a brain, and seek some bang for your entertainment buck, i.e., a film that you don't want to shut down by 00:27:28, I would suggest something else.
As the picture progressed, I waited for something to happen - anything aside from "evil" corporate America to rear its ugly head. After watching, waiting, and wasting a half an hour of my life, I gave up. As is typical with a Weinstein production, this film was nothing more than socialist propaganda. P.U.
