The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Member Rating:
Mild-mannered scientist Bruce Banner has been traveling the globe in search of the antidote that will allow him to break free from his primal alter ego, but both the warmongers who long to exploit him for their own gain and a horrific creature known as The Abomination are determined to stop him from achieving his noble goal in Transporter 2 director Louis Leterrier's take on the classic Marvel Comics superhero tale. For years, Bruce (Edward Norton) has been living in the shadows, pursued by the military and haunted by the rage within. But traveling the world in secrecy isn't easy, and as hard as he tries Bruce can't get Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) off his mind. The daughter of Bruce's nemesis Gen. Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt), Betty represents everything that is beautiful in the world to a man who lives his life on the run. Eventually, Bruce returns to civilization and faces the wrath of The Abomination. While the Hulk may be a formidable force of nature, The Abomination is decidedly more powerful, and determined to destroy Bruce Banner. Created when KGB agent Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth) exposed himself to a higher dose of the same radiation that transformed Bruce into The Hulk, The Abomination is unable to change back into human form and holds Bruce accountable for his frightful condition. With time fast running out for both Bruce and The Hulk, New York City is about to become the ultimate urban battle zone as two of the most powerful creatures ever to walk the earth clash in a massive, no-holds-barred fight to the finish. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I don't know why "The Incredible Hulk" didn't do that much better than the original "Hulk" made five years prior. While I initially thought this was going to be a retelling, it turns out to be a direct sequel to the terrible "Hulk" movie, and also manages to acknowledge the events of that movie before going off on it's own path, cleaning up the big mess Ang Lee left behind before delivering it's own goodness. The events summed up in the opening credits tell the whole story of The Hulk beautifully and quickly, before moving on to show Bruce Banner's attempt to supress the beast while living as a fugitive in Brazil. The action scenes are done right, the idea of power is shown very well (with Bruce Banner not liking his alter ego and the villain jealous of it), and by the end of the movie, Hulk is actually established as a hero, instead of a Frankenstein's monster. Very well done and a good job fixing what Ang Lee destroyed in The Hulk.

good movie, better than the first. lots of action, not as much of the "love story" which i appreciated. back story handled very well, quick and to the point.

This sequel is much better than the 2003 version of The Hulk. I really liked this one.

Just finished watching this and I have to say they did an AWESOME job of making this movie!! In most action films during the action the viewer gets blur and poor views of the action where you know mayhem is going on but you cannot make it out and wish for a better camera shot and sometimes slow motion so you do not miss the action. In this film they did a good job of letting you see the action. More importantly, the story was well done, the casting was perfect and the acting was top notch all around. VERY WELL DONE!! If you are a nit-picker over thinker type, there are two tiny little story (flaws??)... what happened to Mr Blue after he got exposed (was another monster created?), and how could the military possibly have taken care of the bad guy after Hulk beat him down (because you know he has the amazing ability to recover and the military did not seem to have a way to make a dent in him much less hold him). BOTTOM LINE: If you are into this type of movie, you will LOVE this!

Good, but not as good as Hulk-2003. This one does however give some closure to the fan base of the 2003 one, since we were left jonesing for a sequel. I would've liked to see Eric Bana continue the role of Bruce Banner. Edward norton just couldn't pull it off in my opinion. Worth a rental though.

I hated the first Hulk movie, but this one is great, and parts of it even reminds me of the Incredible Hulk TV show from the 70's. Ed Norton even kind of resembles Bill Bixby. Overall, a great film. Too bad this one didn't come out first, and too bad they aren't using Norton in the new Avengers movie

If you loved the Hulk comic book, you'll love the movie. I was never a Hulk fan. Still, this is very good science fiction. Great acting, great story, and fun cameo spots. Mostly it kept computer animation at a sane balance. That is until the final chapter when it became a special effects explosion and body parts were flying everywhere.

Good, almost very good, but not great. Bottom line and most importantly to you readers, this movie is definitely worth renting for an action/comic book hero movie type of fun time.
