A powerful drug dealer has taken control of New Orleans, but as the authorities scramble to stop the bloodshed things only get worse in this violent thriller starring DMX, Lou Diamond Phillips, Leila Arcieri, and Keshia Knight Pulliam. "The Dog" (DMX) is a drug dealer who will stop at nothing to be the number one bad boy in the Big Easy. His ruthlessness is legendary, and his power far reaching. But the authorities are onto "The Dog," and now the time has come to put this pit-bull to sleep. Will they accomplish their mission before any more innocent lives are lost, or could it be that New Orleans' top dog is truly above the law? ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I sat through it thinking it was going to get better. Didn't happen.

First off, save yourself some time and DON'T rent this one! Here's why: -DMX isn't even actually in the movie, he just sort of narrates. -Lou Diamond does his worst performance ever and is barely even shown anyway. -Not a "B" movie, more like a "D" or "F-" movie. -Worst steady-cam work I've ever seen. Were they drunk and blind? -Very inconsistent screenplay that should never have gone to film. Again, do yourself a favor and skip this title. :P

Don't rent it, it has a bunch of no name actors that can't act.

This is not only bad acting, But bad sound, Music and quality of movie. The only thing that they have somewhat correct is the way they portrayed New Orleans. Very bad movie, Not even worth your time. GHETTO and just a flat out stupid movie.

I usually enjoy watching movies with rappers and b-list action actors but this movie is BAD. i didn't even bother watching the last 2 chapters. it's sort of a ghetto soap opera and that is not an overstatement. the movie's leading "stars" like DMX and LD Phillips are in the movie for about 8 minutes max, all together. it looks like it was filmmed on something better than a handheld camera. the acting was terrible. some of the actors have to look at cue cards just to get the line right. there were also serious plot holes like white gangbangers in NOLA or people getting shot but don't bleed. this is a seriously bad movie.

That should sum it up pretty well. This movie sucked on all levels. It must have been shot on one of those cameras you buy at Walmart. . The actors (if you want to call them that), couldn't act if you put a gun to their heads. (Actually, that might have elicit better performances from them). Lou Diamond Philips just needed a paycheck to pay for one of his mortgages, DMX (Ha Ha Ha). That one little Latina babe outside the store waiting to 'off' that one dude had a nice ass. Other than that and the cool cover, you're losing precious moments that could be spent on watching molasses pour from a container (that would be more entertaining). DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

While I can understand the anger and dissappointment the other reviewers have about this movie, regardless of how bad the acting or the dialog or the cinematography was in this movie, it kept my interest till the end. To me the worst part of the movie was how the hot female cop brandishes what appears to be a rubber pistol. lol. Worse yet is when the white guy loads the assault rifle magazine with blanks instead of realistic looking ammunition.

This movie was a huge disappointment. It was low-budget with a weak script. The acting was low-key. I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy.
