The final installment in an acclaimed anime series adapted from the manga by Taro Rin, this DVD release gives the material a simple but effective presentation. X: Vol. 8 has been given a full-frame transfer to disc in the aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Users may choose between the original Japanese language soundtrack and a dubbed version in English; the disc also features optional English subtitles. This is the final DVD of the X series. Overall the TV series is not as depressing as the movie and does a good job fleshing out the characters.
