Join horror specialists Oxide Pang (The Eye) and Pisuth Praesang-lam for a terrifying trip into the unknown in this frightful collection of three skin-crawling tales that are sure to give viewers more than a few sleepless nights. When an antiques dealer discovers an ancient instrument that appears to open a gateway between two worlds, she soon finds that you may never truly know yourself as well as you think you do in "Legend of the Drum." An aphrodisiac that claims to be the most potent way of attracting the opposite sex around proves more effective than a customer ever imagined in the cautionary tale "Black Magic Woman," and a haunted police cadet in search of the truth behind a young girl's suicide finds that some mysteries are better left unsolved in "Revenge." With no limits and style to spare, Pang and Pisuth pull out all the stops to push viewers to the absolute limits of fear. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

The first two stories are okay, but the final one (entitled "Revenge" by director Oxide Pang) is no less than brilliant. This anthology is worth watching for the last story alone!

This is one of the better horror anthology titles to come out of Asia. Its production values (acting, directing, cinematography and sound) also come close, but not quite on par with "Three... Extremes". Although it's not shown until 44 minutes into the movie, the title is about three women exchanging ghost stories in a pub. However, by the end of the movie, you may question that. In fact, the endings of all three stories didn't make much sense, nor did the final sequence before the credits started rolling. The first story, "Legend of the Drum", is about 44 minutes long. The second story, "Black Magic Woman", is about 40 minutes long. The third story, "Revenge", is about 41 minutes long. One big negative was that many of the dark scenes were too dark, so you may have to turn up your TV's brightness. The DTS audio option makes excellent use of surround sound by placing environmental sounds all around the viewer. Overall, recommended for omnibus aficionados.
