In 1982, Crippen High School was the scene of a gruesome series of dismemberment murders, but the killer was never identified. Five years later, Cosmic Pictures arrives at the long-abandoned campus to make a low-budget horror movie based on the tragedy, and suddenly the terror begins anew. The police department arrives at the school to find the building and grounds covered in gore and human body parts, the remains of the unfortunate film crew. The only survivor of this new massacre is the screenwriter, Arthur (Richard Brestoff), who tries to explain the horrifying events to the authorities. The troubled production's leading lady is angered over the demeaning nature of her role, the producer and director argue over the film's lack of artistic merits, and when cast members start disappearing, everyone else assumes that they're just quitting out of disgust. Who is the culprit? Is it the school's principal, appearing as himself in the film for the sake of realism? The janitor, who hopes to parlay his cameo into a pornography career? Or maybe Steven (Brendan Hughes), who was a student at Crippen during the original murder spree and finds himself reluctantly cast as the hero? This self-referential slasher parody features George Clooney in a small part as the film's first victim, and The Brady Bunch's Maureen McCormick as a policewoman with a lust for blood and hot dogs. ~ Fred Beldin, Rovi

Low budget wanna be slasher flick, filled with useless conversations, lots of sex talk and a few chest shots. All of which are disappointing. Story line was hard to follow. Interesting that it features a young George clooney (for five minutes) and a semi slu**y Marshy Brady. I recommend not wasting your time on this one.

Cool movie within a movie concept, but as some one pointed out earlier, it was executed(pun intended) poorly. You should know what to expect from an 80's slasher flick. Look out for an unknown George Clooney at the time.-Stone

Return to horror high is an inspired horror spoof idea; it's just not very well executed. the school in question was the site of many gruesome murders. A film crew shows up to shoot a movie about those murders on the site of the actual scool. then the killing starts again. The actual murders are mixed in with the fake movie murders - leaving cops to the task of sorting out the body parts. The acting isn't very good. The movie itself tries to be serious with it's quick cuts between actual murders and film murders; they keep you guessing which type of scene we are actually seeing. Unfortunately, it's far too campy and over the top to be taken seriously. Maureen McCormick cracks me up during the movie, but other wise this turkey is disposable.

Most people don't realize that this was intended to be a slasher parody. It was a movie within a movie with some over the top gore. I thought the movie was actually quite funny. Following the typical plots of slasher flicks with some humor added in. It was also fun to see a young George Clooney and Maureen McCormick. Definitely worth the rent.

this movie was not as bad as everyone is making it out 2 be it could of been worse. Give it a chance it's an older movie with an interesting story line there is alot of gore which is great. Otherwise it is not the best and it is not the worst movie ever.

This had a cheesy 80s slasher feel at the beginning. I'm a big fan of slasher flicks but this one was pretty bad. I'm usually pretty generous on my ratings for 80s slasher films but this one wasn't good.

Terrible. I felt like peeling my skin off with a dull butter knife would have been a better use of time. Stinker!
