Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985) Reviews

Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins (1985)
Member Rating:
Adapted from the "Destroyer" series of novels and comic books (not exactly the level of Ian Fleming), Remo Williams (Fred Ward) is a New York cop who works for a top-secret government agency accountable directly to the President of the U.S. After his reluctant induction into this agency, Remo is trained in a near-magical Korean martial arts form by Chiun (Joel Grey) in great sequences where walking on water is taken in stride. After his training, Remo goes after a corrupt arms manufacturer with connections in the U.S. military and acquires the necessary help-mate in the form of Major Rayner Fleming (Kate Mulgrew). Antics at the Statue of Liberty and other stunts enliven the action, but cannot make up for comic-book level characters. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

I Loved this movie growing up. It stuck with me all this time. The action scenes through out the movie were ahead of its time.

My family and I absolutely loved this movie. It takes the art of revenge to a whole new level while still keeping a sense of humor. I am glad Remo Williams is on our side!

A movie that was way ahead of its time. Some movies hold up over time. This one does...

I had never heard of this before. but a friend of mine recommended it. It was a great fun family movie. My kids thought it was funny. Fun to watch an older (1985) film with the high tech special effects but still show off a good action flick.

One of the few action movies that captivated me as a child! Love the martial arts and humor. Good for most of the family to watch with no real pervasive language or gore found in most modern day action flicks. Awesome film!

We like watching Fred Ward; but this movie is not, as they say, a keeper. It's a curiosity ... see it only if you can get a free rental. And .. Joel Grey made up to look Korean..??
