Ever wanted the inside scoop on crashing that exclusive party, getting better than average dope, and spending the night with someone you'd be ashamed to be seen with the next morning? Filmmaker Paul Sapiano answers your questions on these and many other critical areas of the party lifestyle in this satiric comedy. Presented in part as a faux-documentary and in part as the story of a typical night in the life of a handful of Los Angeles nightlife mavens, The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down offers "useful" advice on getting into the club, scamming free drinks, tipping the bar staff, dealing with uncooperative drug dealers, talking your way into an all-star after party, how to attract women by pretending to be gay, and getting rid of last night's pickup in the cold light of the morning. The Boys & Girls Guide to Getting Down received its world premiere at the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
if you are a partier, this is the flick for you. it's really different and has a great cast. definitely one to enjoy with your friends under the influence....
I live 5 blocks away from all the bars and restaurants that these people party at and it is definately a great LA party movie. i think i even know people like this! great editing, graphics, dialogue, jokes, and music thanks to dirty vegas! a must rent!!!
Education about the attitude & approach that some people have about sex, drugs & partying. The more "square" you are, the more you will learn, regardless of age. Fast pace, with so-so entertainment.
This is an absolutely useless film. Oh, it has a few moments which are humorous, but only if you decide from the very beginning that you aren't going to take this movie even the least bit serious. Generally, it's a "mockumentary" on the do's and don'ts of young adult partying, but it's full of really stupid "advice" on everything from drinking to smoking crack to getting laid. Unfortunately, the movie would probably be better if you were actually drunk or high while watching it.
This movie sucks. It's a faux doc umentary about how to party it up in LA. It shows the subjects drinking lots of booze and doing copious and unrealistic amounts of cocaine. I do like the way they have lab guys testing out their "theories" and voice-overs sounding authoritative and instructional. It's kind of funny actually (thus the 1.5 stars). But the acting is not good, and downright bad most of the time. Plus I hate this phony LA, exclusive clubs and private parties lifestyle that only exists in movies. Message to Paul Sapiano: There are 298 million people in the US that don't live in LA and they "get down" just as often as the idiotic characters in your movie. Try to step outside your little confined and depraved little world when attempting to make a movie.
I turned off this movie after 10 minutes (not even sure if I kept it going that long). Too much vulgar sexual things going on (should be rated NC-17)!!!!!!
