Forest Whitaker, Dennis Quaid, William Hurt, and Matthew Fox star in director Pete Travis' Rashomon-style thriller in which an assassination attempt on the president of the United States is detailed from five unique perspectives. As the president arrives in Salamanca, gunshots ring out. An American tourist (Whitaker) has captured footage of the would-be assassin on videotape, and now, as the stories of the other four witnesses unfold, each essential piece of the puzzle quickly falls into place. Only when all of the stories are told will the chilling truth to this shocking crime finally emerge. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Pardon me for using this space for a suggestion instead of review. I notice that many of the same folks take their time to write reviews which is great in and of itself. My suggestion is to help qualify your review, include your age or at least age group (i.e.- middle age, teen, senior etc.) because let's face it, a teen may not like or appreciate a film that, let's say, a mid. aged person would and vice versa etc. etc. I'm hoping blockbuster reads this and includes it as info. when writing one. If you agree and think it helpful, please show support for those reading it by clicking yes, otherwise, of course, click No. Thanks for your consideration. (by the way, 4 stars on the movie!...my age group, 40's)
My wife and I loved this movie. 15 minutes of time and the events that occured during that 15 minutes are shown over and over, but each time from a different vantage point, looking through the eyes and experience of a different participant. And with each reshowing, a little more is revealed, building this mystery thriller to a climax. Kept us on the edge of our couch, and kept us guessing. Great movie. Forest Whitiker was superb.
We read the synopsis of this movie and thought it might be good but we were blown out of our seats. Definitely the best movie we've seen so far this year. You learn a little more of the story as you view it from the vantage point of the different characters. I thought going over the same sequence of events time after time would be boring but not at all. Great characters and great acting.
By the way, I like the suggestion about including your age in the review. I'm in my later 50's and my husband is mid 60's.
I was interested in each persons involvement in the incident, and how the pieces would come together. As each perspective progressed they became more complicated creating more intrigue. Each character had a unique place in the plot, which kept you locked into the storyline. Dennis Quaid plays the determined secret service man who will not allow anything to fail on his watch. He catches every little detail that leads him to the culprit. Forest Whitaker plays the American tourist who feels a duty to his country, assistting the secret service men in their pursuit, by filming what he feels is important information..
Lots of action and no time to nod off. enjoy.
My husband and I liked this movie a lot. I thought it was a neat way to show all the character's "vantage points" to what is happening. Instead of a bunch of different things going on at once they opted to view each one seperately. Good movie!
Good movie, great acting. I usually hate movies that go over the same thing like this does. But you get something different everytime and it takes all of them to get the whole story. It was nice to finally see something different.
The movie was action packed and great to see. The film made you pay attention to the little details as scenes were played out from different points of views. A different way of storytelling that keeps your attention.
This is a real weird movie. It is some what boring at the beginning, when each vantage point is shown (they keep going back to the beginning). It does get better half way through. It was ok but I would not put it on my to buy list.
With all the killing hard to believe it rated PG-13. This movie is fast action passed from start to finish. Keeps you on your toes guessing the whole time. If this would have shown some nudity I would have given it a better rating.
One good movie, not the best I've ever seen but pretty good, it is just one BIG surprise the whole way!!! But the ending was a HUGE surprise. I think you should go rent it then if you do like it buy it then. I liked it i won't watch it right away but i will again sometime. Dennis Quaid was perfect for this part.
