AL Otro Lado is constantly being advertised on Univision and as well as on other Spanish speaking media, which such constant promotion led me to view it. I was disappointed on the lack of action and didn't really see much of a storyline or plot at all. The movie is extremely similar to Babel, however, it lacked Babel's intriguing drama and action. To sum it up, Al otro lado is about three different families in three different countries in whom the father has left to "the other side" for the well being of their families. In all three stories, a child goes on a quest to find their father, some suceeding and others failing. I was extremely disappointed in the ending. My reaction was exactly ; "Tha was it?" I would not recommend this movie. Babel is definately much well directed.

Al Otro Lado is a movie which allows the viewer to experience life in the eyes of three children living in three different parts of the world -- Morraco, Puerto Rico, and Michoacan, Mexico. Each child takes action to bring back his/her father who has left the family to "al otro lado". Everything about the movie was enjoyable to watch. The children are cute and their stories are so poignant. I loved getting a glimpse into the lives of people living in three different parts of the world, too.

You are left wanting more the begging is OK but seems as if they did not know how to end the story.

The character development and the story line are promising. The young actors are very good. However, they needed to bring all the stories to some logical conclusion other than leave you hanging and wanting more.
