Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (1955)
Member Rating:
Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy is the last of the team's vehicles for Universal-International. Stranded in Egypt, Bud and Lou hire themselves out as travelling companions to archeologist Kurt Katch. Before long, Katch is murdered by a group of cultists, and a medallion, embossed with a map which leads to a sacred burial site, is accidentally swallowed by Costello. The boys become the unwilling pawns of the cultists, led by Richard Deacon, and a greedy adventuress, played by Marie Windsor. The last scene finds Costello being menaced by three mummies, two of them bogus. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

I think young folks of today would enjoy seeing what their grandparents enjoyed 60 years ago.

I actually like this one better than their Frankenstein movie. They were both good though.

This is classic Abbott and Costello; so if you like them, you like this. I have been introducing my children to these wonderful older movies, movies my father introduced me to when I was young, and the laughs are still as loud as ever. Void of harsh violence, langage and actions, this is a true treat to watch. Hopefully, other families with young children can find their children as receptive as mine to the old time look and style. It may not happen right away, but do a good cuddle session with them and give them a chance to really learn the value of this type of comedy!

I enjoyed this film, it is a good Abbott and Costello movie but not one of their best although it definitely has some good scenes. But if you're not familiar with this comedy team, please start with one of their best "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein." That is a great classic comedy film and so much fun to watch!

These Abbott and Costello classics are just that. Most of these movies bring back memories, whether good or bad. For me, they bring back wonderful memories. So, keep watching these classics.
