Like any young boy, Zack is nervous about moving to a new town. After happening across a pair of abandoned dogs with surprising magical powers though, Zack discovers that his new home may not be so bad after all. cute/wholesome family movie - something along the lines of those "after school special" movies... a movie for 7 thru 16. Bad 19-yr old and his friend that knows better but "goes along" steal a vehicle that happens to have 2 dogs in the back. The bad kid makes his friend take them out to dispense of them in nearby river - but the kid decides to leave them alive in their cage in the woods instead hoping someone will come along. Cute young boy finds the adorable dogs and they follow him home. He hides them in his clubhouse while he tries to figure out what to do - and hopes he can keep them. Turns out the dogs have some healing power . . . The boys 16-yr old sister has a beauty "flaw" to overcome and 2 boys vying for her attention - some decisions and growing of her own to do. Enjoyable enough movie which gently teaches a bit about good and bad decisions without being off-putting about it. A clean movie without the gosh/golly or preachy stuff. (no tissues needed)
Being a "kids movie" or a "family movie" does not excuse how awful this film was. You can make a clean, family movie without making an intellectually devoid movie. In place of a good script, the writer of this film thought it would be best to write a script riddled with uninteresting dialogue and cliches. Terrible acting. Terrible directing. If you want to show your children a family movie that isn't complete garbage, try movies like Finding Nemo, Alice In Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, or Spirited Away.
