From master storyteller Arthur Haley comes this gripping tale of a man condemned to death, but determined to reveal the truth behind his crimes before his time expires. It's been a lifetime since former Catholic priest Malcolm Ainslie (Tom Beringer) walked away from the church to become a police investigator, and though he may have traded his collar for a badge the same man still exists deep inside despite the uniform change. It was Ainslie himself who played a key role in apprehending notorious serial killer Elroy Doil (Sean O'Bryan), and as the time draws near for Doil's execution, the convicted killer calls Ainslie to his cell for one final confession, and the promise of the truth. As Doil reveals to Ainslie the shocking details of the crimes he committed - and the terrifying truth behind one crime that not even Ainslie believed Doil capable of - the two men embark on a shocking journey into the past where no stone is left unturned, and the wrath of God weighs heavily on the shoulders of man. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Tom Berenger & Cybill Shepherd are two over weight actors that have seen better days. This is a good story, well plotted and with lots of twists, BUT, the pacing was way too slow. This story need somebody like a Hitchcock to make sense of it all. Wait 10 years and hope somebody does a remake!!
It was pretty evident that this was a movie made for television. The movie had an interesting premise, however, it was long and tedious. The plot got bogged down in a monotonous, slow-moving drag. I enjoy Tom Berenger as an actor, but it was still a challenge to watch the whole movie without falling asleep.
This one turned into a very good movie after a somewhat slow start. It keeps you guessing who the bad guy really is and you get fooled several times if you try to figure it out as the film progresses. Also, it is quite evident that the two leads have been hitting the buffet line in the company mess hall.
In my opinion this movie was pretty awful. It seemed like a bad "made for TV" movie. The acting was fine but the story wasn't. I was especially disappointed with the ending. I would not recommend this movie to anyone.
