When a young witch from a remote village in northeastern Thailand travels to Bangkok in hopes of raising the money to care for her ailing grandmother, her breaking of the witch's sacred code soon leads to disaster in this frightful tale of magic from director Paul Spurrier. Dau is a young Thai/Khmer girl who studies magic in the remote forest hut where she lives with her ailing grandmother. In addition to learning the spells that will ward off evil spirits, grace her with good luck, maintain her beauty, and clear her path of rivals, Dau also learns that there are three important rules by which a witch must always abide: never eat raw meat, never pass under a clothesline, and never charge a fee for teaching magic. If these rules are ever broken, a bloodthirsty evil known as the "Phii Borb" will grow within the witch and eventually burst from her body to search for human flesh. When Dau's grandmother falls ill and the young girl is forced to travel to Bangkok and earn the money that will keep her elder in good health, she soon falls under the spell of city life and begins to misuse her powers. Soon the three rules are broken, and from Dau's body emerges an otherworldly abomination that fast takes to the streets to satisfy its horrific appetite. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I didn't think this was as bad as others say. You do have to read because its subtitled. It starts out as a sad story about a young country girl in Tialand who ends up dancing in the big city and prostitution to send money to her grandmother who is kind of a witch but is ill. She starts using the dark powers tought to her by her grandmother to hurt those that did her wrong. But then the evil consumes her.

How this low budget fare qualifies for entertainment in Thailand is beyond me. It appears that a group of British men living in Thailand decided to make a movie about Thai gogo dance clubs they frequent. Throughout the film, the sleaze factor was always present. Despite the movie being placed in the horror genre, the horror aspect doesn't really start until after the first hour. The acting was at best fair since nearly everyone on the cast was a first time actor. The soundtrack sounded like something you'd hear in a 1990's adventure video game. While the picture quality was very clear, it had a three dimensional, shot on video quality. The 5.1 Dolby Digital audio option sounded like it just echoed the dialogue and special effects in all speakers. As for extras, there's two trailers for the movie, a "P Behind The Scenes" featurette (1:46 min), a "Soi Cowboy Gogo Bars" featurette (4:57 min), a "Rawang Music Video" (5:03 min) and a "Production Photos" gallery. Not recommended.
