The 18th century is drawing to a close and miraculous technological achievements are in the middle of a boom with new inventions sprouting up virtually every day. It is here that a young man named Jean, who would like to make his fortune as an inventor, sees a pretty girl with dark skin while he is in Paris and is inexplicably drawn to her. He begins to follow her, only to find that she is being pursued by two thugs who are after her amulet because it is imbued with strong and potentially destructive powers. Soon, Jean learns that her name is Nadia and her amulet is known as Blue Water.
