Season one of the NBC hospital "dramedy" Scrubs gets underway with Dr. J.D. Dorian's (Zach Braff) first day as an intern at Sacred Heart Hospital, with his best friend and roommate, Dr. Chris Turk (Donald Faison), at his side. Nicknamed "Bambi" by the Sacred Heart nurses because of his wide-eyed naïveté, J.D. takes his orders from the deceptively avuncular chief of medicine, Dr. Robert Kelso (Ken Jenkins), and from the loud, obnoxious, and highly contrary Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley). J.D. is enamored of sexy Dr. Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke), and it is with brassy "mother hen" nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes) that Turk has a serious hospital romance. The scrubs' first year on the job is festooned with a variety of sobering experiences, ranging from sudden and unexpected death to nuisance lawsuits. Also, J.D. launches his ongoing war of nerves with Sacred Heart's caustic janitor (Neil Flynn), a man of many mysteries and eccentricties. Along the way, J.D. has a brief fling with hospital board member Jordan Sullivan (Christa Miller), who, unfortunately for him, turns out to be the combustible Dr. Cox's ex-wife. And on a happier note, J.D.'s dream of getting Elliott in the sack finally comes true...but be careful what you wish for. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

I cannot say how much I love this show. The acting, writing, plot and character all work together so well! I have to honestly say the group of people they cast were spot on for each character and real doctors have said before that this show is the closest to actually working in a hospital, sure some things are over the top but its just JD's imagination! Overall this is a great sitcom and I am very sad it is in its final season.

This "dramedy" is well worth your time. Zach Braff is genius, and the fantasy sequences are outrageous. This show is a guaranteed laugh. Don't miss it!

This show is full of good laughs, you just have to be paying attention. The show is about the life of a upcomming doctor and his somewhat comical life. From there dead stuffed dog to the ever watching janitor, and everything inbetween, there is humor in this show for everyone. Granted, this show isnt for the mature audience, they can stick pick up a few laughts here and there. This show is for the light of heart who as just looking for a simple laugh.

The 2 People on here who put this show was horrible must not have been watching the same show. The jokes are throughout the entire season. Has a great plot. The characters all have their own personality. I love Dr Cox. He's my favorite character. I cant wait to see the other seasons. I just hate that I waited til the show was over to decide I like it...hah.

I can't tell what I hate the most about this: the acting, the writing, the directing or that horrible opening song. The jokes are few and far between. I've only laughed out loud a handful of times. And the drama isn't any better. The acting is mediocre and Zach Braff's face has never been more annoying. It's hard for me to describe how bad this season is. At times, it was literally painful to watch. I hope that the other seasons tighten up because this leaves much to be desired. This is almost like watching one of those bad sitcoms from the 80s, mixed with a little soap opera and cheese-ball humor. Cheese-ball is probably the word I would use to sum up this DVD.
