Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica - Season 02 (2004) Reviews

Season two of Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica continues to follow musical performers Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson as they begin the second year of their marriage. Many of the episodes have the same basic premise: the couple would like to spend more time alone, but their professional commitments get in the way. Also, Jessica surprises Nick on his 30th birthday, just as he'd done on her 23rd birthday the previous season. In other exciting matrimonial adventures, Jessica tries her hand at learning dialogue for a comedy sketch and promotes her own line of perfume; Nick has his say in which kind of dog the couple will buy; Mr. and Mrs. go skiing with relatives, with mixed success; and Jessica's personal assistant Cacee Cobb moves into the newlywed's house. This year's season finale finds Nick joining the Cincinnati Reds for batting practice, while Jessica has trouble getting the particulars of her upcoming tour together, just like any other average married couple...not. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
