The direct-to-video sequel Tarzan II continues the story started by Disney in the 1999 animated feature Tarzan. My 2 1/2 year old and I both loved this movie! I especially loved the fast play feature. I'd turn on the movie and wouldn't see him again for hours, I would literally have to go check on him because he was so quiet just watching it over and over and over! My only complaint was it was a little lacking of the funny parts like in the first Tarzan. The first one had him cracking up, and with this one he didn't laugh as hard. But other than that, I'd say this one is gonna become an absolute favorite in our family's dvd collection.

It's kind of wierd seeing a little boy running around like a monkey. There is some scary gorilla growling scenes. Other than that, it was good story and had a good ending. I didn't see the first 2 yet.

This movie's story is stretched really thin and is fairly boring. There are some exiled apes that will get on your nerves every time they're on screen. Some positives: The animation is actually pretty decent. Also, the new songs from Phil Collins are pretty good. This is a total renter, but you'll find it hard to sit through if you're over the age of 6.

Have these Disney creators ever even met a child before? This movie is boring, the story is weak, and the characters are just plain annoying, and frankly dumb. If this was about Tarzan and his little buddies from the ape clan, just hanging out and having adventures, it may have been fun for kids to watch (the only part my daughter liked was when Tarzan was with the little baby gorillas and Terk, which lasted all of five minutes). My daughter also kept asking why Tarzan doesn't go back to his family. The reason he leaves is so lame, even a four year old knows it does not make sense, and there was a perfect opportunity for him to go off on his own already set up. Bad, bad. More trash for the masses to consume.
