The previous reviews by Joan, Brett and Shawn give a very accurate summary. The only thing I could add is that some performances made more sense on a stage than in a movie.. I truly enjoyed the interview with Diedre Kotch...She has a great personality.. somebody one would want to know.
I want to support lesbian filmmakers, I really do but, they gotta give me something to support. I can live with a lot because of the low budget still, the acting was not good, script was jumpy and the lighting /camera angle choices...whew. That said the actors pulled it off a couple of times (the kids were great) and there was some real chemistry between the leads in intimate scenes.
Okay, I understand this is a low budget movie and knowing that, I think that it's pretty good. There were some technical issues and the script/editing could've been a little smoother. However, the story is interesting and some of the acting was terrific. The fact that the script wasn't super stellar makes it more difficult for the actors to "sell" their characters and words, but the girl who played Eve, was fantastic. She really made the character come alive and made the people that worked in scenes with her look good, which is what you want to see in a performance.
Very poor over-acting. Film quality is grainey. Plot line moves too quickly for you to become involved with caring about these characters and their emotions. Intimate scenes were obscured and never emotional. Overall, the entire movie fumbled horribly.
For me this movie was just "okay". The story line was "okay", the acting was "okay". There was nothing special or particularly intriguing about this movie for me. It dragged at times but I did watch it until the end because I was curious about the characters.
