After winning the heavyweight boxing championship and single-handedly winning the war in Vietnam for America, Sylvester Stallone moves on to a real challenge -- arm wrestling -- in this action drama with a family undercurrent. Lincoln Hawk (Stallone) is a long-haul truck driver who years ago abandoned his wife Christina (Susan Blakely) and their son Michael (David Mendenhall). Hawk comes to see the error of his ways and wants to reconcile with his loved ones, only to discover that Christina is in the hospital suffering through the last stages of a terminal illness. Her wealthy and powerful father, Jason Cutler (Robert Loggia), has come to hate Hawk for the way he left his daughter to fend for herself, and he wants full custody of the boy upon her death. But Hawk is desperate to mend his relationship with Michael. He kidnaps the boy, and as Jason's hired goons give chase, Hawk points his truck toward the one place where he can win the money and recognition that will earn his son's respect -- a wrist-wrestling championship in Las Vegas. Actor Sylvester Stallone also co-wrote the screenplay. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This movie takes me back to my childhood (I'm almost 26 and it was old then). I love this movie. Yeah maybe its a little corny but its Stallone....The story line is touching, he's not pushin on some woman or tryin to save the world, he's tryin to be with his son...who of course, wants nothing to do with him. With trials and tribulations......watch the movie. You wont regret it. This is an alltime fav or mine. My husband made fun of me when I told him that was the next DVD on the way, even he sat and watched. Call me corny, I love this movie.

Another Stallone underdog flick. If you don't like his formula, skip this one. It's "Rocky" as an arm-wrestler trying to win back his son. Has a good 80's feel-good soundtrack including Kenny Loggins and a feel-good predictable story with some positive and encouraging lines that may stay in your head.

Dumb to be sure. Stallone takes it to the ring again....the arm wrestling ring that is. Will he win the championship and win his son's love? Who knows. For die hard Stallone fans only. -Stone

Was surprised when I received, thinking did I really request this - But watched and enjoyed with Grandson and he liked very much. I am definitely not a Stallone Fan but this was pretty cute - sorta !

Stalone trades his boxing trunks for arm wrestling ban... resolves issues with his kid, been there done that, punt on this one.

This movie isn't great but it is not terrible either. Stallone character is trying to be a good father to the son he hasn't know for 15 years. He teaches his son hard lessons about life that he wouldn't have otherwise learned in his sheltered and privilaged life. He helps to build his confidence in himself. Its a bit corny but also heartwarming.
