Forbidden Warrior is structured loosely on a popular Asian myth. The story concerns Seki, an attractive woman who discovers that she can utilize an ancient book of spells in order to accomplish just about anything. She must master these spells before the book falls into the hands of those who mean to do some serious damage with it. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
Don't be fooled this is not an asian movie!! this crap looks like it was filmed in mexico! the asian actors are mostly refugees from seinfeld, This is not a asian movie! (which I think are the best in the world!) this is a fake!! PASS on this one if you rent it you'll be sorry! the only thing good about this dvd, was the music.
An American production about an Asian legendÂ….it seemed to have been made to mimic Asian made movies and style, but it failed miserably. The music in the movie was greatly misplace, redundant and, and over kill. With mediocre acting that would leave you spaced out and just annoyed. The idea of the movie and story line had potential but was not given the chance to become more. Leaving it as an unsatisfying wonder that will fade away long before it is even known to have been produced.
Worst movie I've ever seen. Don't even waste your time on this one. The only reason I even gave it a half a star rating is because Sung Kang was in it. Seriously, really bad acting and really bad story line.
Mistakenly rented (confused with another title). It isn't an Asian production, but as movies go, it didn't totally stink. Best for kids and teens - my boys liked it, but my intelligence was slightly insulted. Pretty hokey, cheesy effects, sappy cuteness in some scenes. Looks more like it was made-for-tv (think Xena, Hercules, and Legend of the Seeker) .
Don't expect fabulousness, but if you're trying to break the boredom for a mess of kiddos stuck in during unfriendly weather (summer heat, snow, rain) this movie does the trick. It is rated PG13, though I can't see why, even the 'violence' wasn't violent.
This a good movie if your kids can't drive and are having a slumber party or if you kid is in some form of Martial Arts and you're looking for an alternative to Wendy Wu: Home Comming Warrior. If you love good movies with gripping characters, drama and epic clashes between the wicked and the weak - rent "Ong Bak".
