In this comical Disney western, a cavalry rider goes AWOL in the midst of a raid to save the lives of a band of Indian women and children. He then takes off across the New Mexican desert astride a camel. En route, he meets a young white boy who was raised by an Indian. Good clean movie the kids can watch. We always like James Gardner in Maverick. This catches some of that persona. The cantankerous camel that he has to deal with -- and her baby camel -- make it a cute story.

This was a nice movie. James Garner plays a calvary soldier who is awol. He runs into a runaway Indian who escaped a fort after the tribes capture. The boy though an indian is actually white as he was captured in his youth. Both men share a kinship because they feel out of place in their world. Its a very heartwarming and exciting movie.

Cute movie - good for nine to eleven year old (especially) boys, but adults will enjoy as well. James Garner is just like he usually is in most anything he plays - likable.

My five year old and I couldn't get past the 20 minute mark. Maybe it gets better after that?
