In this computer animated adventure, a young girl named Alice Hayashi wins a contest, allowing her to become the youngest person ever to enter space. There is a malfunction during take-off, however, and she crash lands on the North Pole, only to find that she is suddenly 30 years into the future. She is captured soon afterward, and discovers that the Earth has come under authoritarian rule. Now, Alice is the only person who can discover what led the world to this horrible fate so that she can return to the past in order to change the future. ~ Cammila Albertson, Rovi

I would not watch this movie based on the CG alone.

I could not finish this movie. The story line was disjointed and filled with more of the same "Why are humans so mean and senseless and destroying the earth?" drivel. The animation was clunky and poorly done. You could see some scenes where the background animation would just stop or the characters would make jerky movements. All in all it was pretty poor. Skip this one and find something by studio Ghibli.

Considering this was made in 1999, I would expect more of the animation. Cinematics in videogames were about 10 times as good as this during the same timeframe. As it is, it looks only slightly better than some of the conceptual cinematics for movies of the time (like X-Men). The story seemed like it was plucked from the middle of a larger one, without any adaptation to develop characters from the outset. Far under par.

The plot has potential, but the animation is so bad I felt like I was watching someone play an old Super Nintendo game. Honestly it probably would have been better if they just used puppets.

Don't waste your time with this. While the story might be interesting if the whole thing was remade I would probably be a fan. The horrible graphics render it unwatchable to most.
