In this youthful surfing adventure, a hot young surfer wins a wave-tank contest in his native Arizona and decides to temporarily abandon his studies to hit the fantastic waves of the Hawaiian North shore pipeline. Once there, he is derided by the other surfers because nobody believes that a boy from the desert could possibly know anything about surfing real waves. Fortunately, an aging hippie (and supremo surfer), who designs boards for a living, believes in him and so teaches him the ropes. "If The Wave Breaks Here Don't Be There Or Your Gonna Get drilled" This Movie Rocks One Of my Favorites Since I was Young. Great Lines In The Movie! A Little 80's old school but fun Surf Film!!!

One of the better "surf movies" out there. Very well-acted and very well-done. A classic, in my opinion, well worth renting. AVG Star rating should be much higher in my opinion.

This is an awesome movie...script was good, well casted movie, and awesome photography, especially the close ups of the surfers on the waves. Not just a surfer movie, but a another success story of a guy from AZ who forfilled his dreams of surfing the Pipeline with the big boys. Nia pulled this movie together as the love interest, since the first girl they casted didn't work out. Great movie for the summer.
