Blood may be thicker than water, but it doesn't hold a candle to hairspray, as we learn in this urban comedy. Angela (Kellita Smith) is a successful hairdresser who operates her own salon based in Los Angeles. One day, Angela gets an unexpected visit from her sister Peaches (Mo'Nique), who runs a beauty shop of her own in Baltimore. The family reunion turns out to not be as happy as Angela may have hoped -- Peaches is trying to stay a step ahead of IRS agents who want to collect 50,000 dollars in back taxes, while also avoiding Marcella (Gina Torres), a fellow hair stylist who wants to take over Peaches' shop. Despite their differences, Angela and Peaches join forces in hopes of finding a way to get the bill paid and take Marcella out of the picture. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
Good movie. Enjoyed it. I think Kelita Smith is a very beautiful woman and I love Taraj she played her part to a tee.
Good movie come highly recommended from me
The plot was poor, the actors were worse, and it was no where near funny. Plus, I did not like the movies take on natural African American hair! The writers need to get a reality check. Too bad I only have 2 thumbs, because I would love to give it 10 thumbs down!
Great if you're a MoNique fan. Definitely a lot of overacting by most of the cast. A good summer rental if you want to save a few brain cells. Doesn't require a lot of thinking. Nice to see a "real woman" get the cute guy!!!!
This was awful and painful to watch. I didn't find it funny at all, Mo'nique was not a believable character, and just simply annoyed me.
All the so called jokes I have heard a million times, there was absolutely no originality.
I wouldn't even recommend watching it on USA, should it come on TV. Dreadful, don't bother..
