In this first sequel to 1989's Batman, the Caped Crusader (Michael Keaton) is up against the Penguin (Danny DeVito), the hideously deformed scion of a wealthy Gotham City family. The Penguin plots with evil businessman Max Schreck (Christopher Walken) to become mayor and then turn Gotham into a cathedral of crime. Upon overhearing these plans, Schreck's mousy secretary Selena Kyle (Michelle Pfeiffer) is tossed from a high-rise window by her boss. Rescued by a covey of kittens, Selena transforms into the leather-clad Catwoman. In this guise, she teams with the Penguin and Schreck to divvy up their ill-gotten gains and help discredit Batman-but she also has her own scores to settle. Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reubens, Vincent Schiavelli and Jan Hooks play significant bits, while Pat Hingle and Michael Gough make returns as, respectively, Commissioner Gordon and Alfred the Butler. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Defies the mantra that sequels are never as good as the original. Well acted, ,directed and edited.

Keaton plays a Great Batman again! I hope they make a new Batman with Keaton too finish up Batman returns! Danny Devito rocked in these Batman! The Best Catwomen ever played! Sad too say this was the last of the good Batman movies:( All others were bad copy's of Batman and Batman returns or just plan dumb like Batman Forever! Robin sucks! Rent this and see the real Batman!

The second and final Tim Burton directed "Batman" fixes a lot of the mishaps from the first film, however, it also ruins a lot of the things he got right! The film interchanges from somewhat clever to shamelessly silly. The darker atmosphere adds to the movie but the lack of Batman takes away from it. It still has enough good qualities, most notably the visuals, to satisfy Batman fans and make it a GOOD movie. It just sadly lacked enough to keep it from being a GREAT movie.

Batman has always been my favorite superhero, even when I was a little girl. He's a lot darker and a lot more human than the others, and this movie plays it across. Tim Burton is the director, and his technique is remarkable and unforgettable. The villains are done quite well, and aren't as annoying or overplayed as they were in the last two Batman movies. Christopher Walken also puts forth a good performance. This movie is something everyone should see.

Michael Keaton's character did not impress me as much as the first movie, but this is overall a well produced and entertaining movie. Not quite the chemistry between Keaton and Pfeiffer as there was between him and Kim Basinger in the first movie. A nice "dark" Tim Burton movie.
