Part narrative, part documentary, and part animation, What the #$*! Do We Know?! was filmed with the intent of expressing the neurological processes and so called "quantum uncertainty" of life. With the help of a directorial triumvirate consisting of Betsy Chasse, William Arntz, and Mark Vicente, Marlee Matlin stars as Amanda, whose uninspired daily routine is abruptly altered into a chaotic, Alice in Wonderland-style reality, complete with quirky characters and wildly different perspectives on life. As Amanda falls deeper into the experience, she's forced to drastically reconsider her perceptions of interpersonal relationships, men, and the fundamental principles of life. What the #$*! Do We Know?! is supplemented by a host of mystics and scientists, who are interviewed intermittently throughout the film for their wisdom and knowledge concerning religion, science, the thin line between them, and the consequences of blurring that line. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

This film has as its focus quantum physics as applied to our personal perspective of the everyday world. It introduces the concept that each individual is a force which continually acts upon and creates the outside world; rather than the commonly-held view that the world is a static presence molding each of us. Part documentary/part drama, the film presents mind-opening interviews with scientists and sages, interspersed with the everyday life of a fictional photographer, played by Marlee Matlin, as she relates to others. It also deals with addiction in the broad sense; that we are all addicted to certain emotional states and ways of being. It is the hope of the writers/producers/directors that, if enough people view this film and give serious thought to its ideas, it will have a profound and positive effect on society's collective consciousness. That, in itself, is an interesting concept. Highly recommended. Charlotte R.

Great format with which to explain quantum physics and how much power our minds really do have over our lives. You know the saying "Attitude is Everything"? Well, science, metaphysics and spirituality are finally coming to grips with each other. I came across these concepts over 25 years ago. Will want to watch this again. Am even reading some books by the professor at University of Oregon. Charlotte B.

I LOVE this movie!!! The first time I watched it, I thought to myself "What the #$*! Hell, I'm going to strangle so-n-so for recommending it"!. BUT then I kept thinking about some of the concepts introduced in the movie and so I watched it again............... and again and again. I must say I find it very intruiging. I now watch it a few times a year and each time something different jumps out at me. I would recommend this movie to anyone with an OPEN MIND. This is a MUST watch. Preferrably more than once. Peace and Love, Sheila

Very Good, thought provolking movie. The thoughts/concepts are intriguing, although not always explained clearly.

Enjoyed the information from all the mystics and scientists interviewed -- truly makes you think and want to learn more. The drama story with Marlee wasn't that great and at times annoying, especially the wedding scene which I think the directors should have shortened. Worth seeing if you have an open mind.

This is a Deep and incredible movie - get a grasp on quantum physics and how it applies to understanding your brain. Every time I watch it more unfolds. They go into how perception is both reality and completely under the control of your will. Anthony Robbins wasn't full of sh*t.

I liked this movie. It offers another view of the universe and challenges the status quo.

The movie's "science" is not rock hard and irrefutable, then again, most science isn't Took us long enough to finally except the world was round, so I'm not going to judge or criticize much when it comes to new theories Keep in mind, most things are theories Hardly anything is truly concrete, it's why we do science, to make sure we're right or to discover something new, which is still deterred and frowned upon in scientific communities, but isn't that what science is? Finding something new or confirming something That being said, this sort of "science" is to explain scientifically what can't be explained scientifically Which is why everyone's moaning about the "non-science" of course it can't be proven, that's the point If it could be it wouldn't be the unknown or in the realm of possibility, would it?

I have to agree with all these other reviewers here. This movies doesn't have a bone of science in it. Utter garbage. There are enough uneducated spiritual people in the world already. The last thing they need is to have their heads filled with the garbage spewed out by these hippies masquerading as scientists. For example - writing various words like "love" and "fear" etc on a piece of paper, attaching them to a glass of watter, then looking at the water through an electron microscope and being amazed that the water molecules look different is not scientific and proves absolutely nothing. Of course they're different, but not because you wrote the work "love" on there. Every water molecule is unique you dumb asses! Where's the control? Where's the repetition? Where's the science? Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb!
