Mountaintop Motel Massacre (1986) Reviews

The murderous Evelyn (Anna Chappell) runs her own version of the Bates Motel, a series of run-down units set on a mountainside. After the batty Evelyn finds her daughter performing a Satanic ritual in the basement, she stabs her to death and then invents a story for the suspicious sheriff. A number of people arrive for the daughter's funeral and they are put up at the motel. Evelyn, meanwhile, tries terrifying her guests with hordes of rats and nasty bugs. When this isn't enough, she decides to up the terror factor by using her sickle, exterminating the guests instead of the bugs and rats. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Well, the title caught my attention, and that was the best part of the movie. Really bad lighting, not that great acting, all in all - not good. If you're an 80's slasher film freak like me, you should probably see it, just because, well, it's an 80's slasher film!:) If your not, I'd go on and skip this one.

She'll put bugs in your bed, Kill you dead. Play mind games, stab you in the brain. Spy on you, choke you til' you blue. Slash your throat, sleep on a bed of roach. She killed you, your dead. This movie was cool. It could be a 1/2 a star better, but I am a fan of cheesy gore. The cheese factor wasn't so bad though, because Evelyn looks scary. She could pass for Norman Bates's mother! I liked this film. Put it in your queue.

Well, this is a mildly decent little 80's slasher. Mom's got a real issue, and takes it out on all that stay at the motel. Cheesed out Psycho wanna be with some cheap thrills. For 80's slasher enthsiasts only.
