Barbarosa is a western starring the unlikely screen team of Willie Nelson and Gary Busey. Nelson is an outlaw, Busey his country-bumpkin buddy. They decide to ride together, since both are on the run from separate family feuds. Directed by Australian filmmaker Fred Schepisi, the screenplay for Barbarosa was written by William D. Even butchered this is a great movie. 2 important scenes were cut out. Without going into detail, one explained his survival at one point while the other explained why the farm boy was taken for him by Don Braulio and Eduardo. Had I not seen the movie before, I would not have understood those 2 parts.

The movie itself is great. Willie and Busey are awesome. It's a shame this hasn't been cleaned up for DVD. This version is full screen pan & scan and the audio is not great. Almost looks/sounds like a movie screen bootleg. It deserves much better!
