The fourth film to chronicle the life of fourth-century B.C. ruler Alexander the Great, Oliver Stone's Alexander stars Colin Farrell as the titular Macedonian conqueror. I think this could have been better. Angelina Jolie was fantastic in this movie but isn't she always. It isa bit difficult keeping up with who's who and who's doing what and to who and for what reason. Many of the lines are difficult to make out too due to them being overly shouted. I enjoyed the ending with Anthony Hopkins which was memorable.

To be totally truthful, the only reason I saw this movie was Angelina Jolie and Rosario Dawson!! For the most part, it was goofy and innaccurate...but gentlemen, there's a topless boudoir scene with Farrell and the absolutely smokin' sultry Rosario Dawson, that will have ya' speakin' in tongues!!!

This movie was like a bad accident - you'd watch it, and feel pain and want to vomit, but keep watching to see if it got any better (but it doesn't). Do not pay to rent this, it's the worst acting in the history of acting. No great effects, (bad directing), a plot that jumps around, bad acting (did I already say that?). Not a good role for Colin Farrell (or Angelina Jolie) - don't let the cast fool you. Wait til it's on TV and you can see it for free - or just skip it and save yourself some disturbance.

I thought that this was a good movie. It could have done without some of the "flashbacks", but all in all the historical esence and the fight scenes were great. The complete freedom to love whomever you want without reprisal was refreshing. I did not like the idea that Alexander and his long-time friend both died at such a young age because of jealousy and hatred. Although the movie is long, it is still worth watching and enjoying.

I was very disappointed. There are some good fight/action scenes, but overall, this portrays Alexander as a weak, indecisive, homosexual that doesn't seem to know much...I really like history, but this doesn't do the justice at all. After the last couple Oliver Stone movies, I'm starting to think he wants to rewrite a lot of history and change perceptions of events to what he thinks they should have been.

I was literally bored to tears. This thing is unbearably long and boring (it has an intermission!) and the only reason I didn't just turn the thing off was because my husband was determined to watch it though. Me, I got a book.
