This entertaining teen comedy is set in the effervescent 1950s and involves the friendship of the introverted, clumsy Jonathan (Doug McKeon) and the nonconformist, extroverted Gene (Chris Nash). Jonathan's main objective is to win over the sexy Marilyn (Kelly Preston), in spite of his shyness, while Gene has his own love-life to maintain with his girlfriend Bunny (Catherine Mary Stewart) -- as well as counseling Jonathan on how to attract women. Gene also has to defend himself against Kenny (D.W. Brown) the class bully while trying to work out a borderline relationship with his widowed father, who has zero tolerance for his often wild escapades. As Jonathan and Gene handle life's challenges, the 1950s emerges as a potent presence on screen in the form of background setting, including movies and music, as well as dress and customs that were popular in that distinctive era. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

It's a highlight of teenage comedy/romance flicks. The atmosphere of the 50's is captured really well. If you like movies like American Graffiti and Grease then you'll definitely enjoy this one.

This movie was ok. The beginning was fairly good, but then the movie seemed to drag on and it couldn't keep my attention, especially during the fighting and drag racing scenes. As with most teen comedies made in the '80s, this movie seemed cliched, had too much emphasis on nudity and sex, and at times bored me to tears.

Definitely one of the Best Teen Movies ever made and a Great Soundtrack to go along with it.

This is a fun youthful romp and quite playful. Seeing these stars when they were so young was enjoyable, especially the gorgeous Kelly Preston. What a body. How lucky John Travolta is to have married her. This movie is very entertaining and enjoyable. I liked it. Not Titanic or Avatar but fun to watch.

In the current day, how can you put out a non closed captioned movie! Guess they did not expect much of this one. I only watched long enough to be certain it waS NOT CCED then sent it back.

I throught the movie was just ok to good. The plot is good, the acting was just ok. If you can get past the lack of character development in the show, you will probably enjoy it.
