Extremely staregy and contrived for no good reason, and I could not fathom what the point was after watching it for half an hour. Try another vehicle if you want to see these fine actors. Read More The best part of this movie is seeing Joan Plowright and the late Sir Laurence Olivier--a couple in real life--performing together. The film is very "play-like," and you'll feel as though you're watching it onstage in London's West End. But somehow, the two segments of the story don't mesh very well. Pursuing the Joan Plowright character is a young Polish refugee, who becomes smitten with her as they occupy adjoining tables at a Soho restaurant. Most of the characters are wacky--but unpleasant at the same time. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No |
