This is a good sweet story for the whole family. The guardian takes on 3 boarders to help with finances. The interaction between these boarders and the girls is the joy of the movie. Each girl is unique in her own way and so are the boarders. It does have a few scenes that jump from one setting to the next and takes it's time explaining what just happened. But these are just minor flaws.

This is a nice movie - I'm not familiar with the book. However, I didn't realize that the DVD is from the 1975 production for television, as opposed to the 2007 film production. I believe both were produced by the BBC. I don't see the recent film version available at Blockbuster at this time (February 2008)

The story line was good. It could have been much better. The movie is filmed like a play with crowded scenes and not much pull back.

If you are looking for Ballet Shoes, the 2008 version starring Emma Watson, it isn't on Blockbuster online however I saw it and it was not very good. Emma's acting was not showed as well as in Harry Potter, and the movie in my opinion was a waste of time.

This is a delightful and feel-good movie for the whole family. Your heart goes out for these three orphaned girls who were taken in by a lovely lady who becomes their guardian. You can see that the hearts of all of the adults who meet them also go out to the girls. It was wonderful to see these adults do what they can to help the three succeed in reaching their dreams. There were a number of vexing discontinuities if you will between some scenes and that led to a bit of confusion. But it was acceptable. The quality of the video was not that good but I did not realize until later that it was from a 1975 broadcast, so it's understandable.
