Fascinating topic, mediocre film. With all of the avenues available to film makers when examining this story, they took the least interesting route. It seems as if the writers got all of their information from a single newspaper article and filled in the rest with whatever they felt like adding. John Gacey had a very fascinating pathology and I would suggest seeing this film only after reading up on him and finding out about all of the interesting stuff that the filmmakers left out. Interested in the crazy, perverted serial killer who dressed up like a clown? Me too. This movie is a prime example of how a great, sick, twisted and interesting TRUE STORY can be translated into trash.Its written badly and the acting is worse. NOT scary, intense, interesting, or even remotely accurate. If you actually sit through the drudgery of the entire movie, you will have no better knowlege of Gacy than you did before you started. This is not a fact-based account; just a skimming portrayal of Gacy's profile as a mass murderer. It shows the horror and dementia of the killer and the innocence and suffering of the victims. So sad that this is based on a real-life account. It shows how people like to live in denial of what's actually before their very face and way of living. He could've been stopped had people listened to their true instincts. And in the end, is there ever true justice here??? Disturbing and sad. Was this review helpful? Yes

This movie really was not that great. There is little to no action. Its slow. It doesn't show anything but dead bodies buried and even that is only a glimpse. The most detailed part is his wife and kids leaving him. Was this review helpful? Yes

It's a very low budget film and drags. I found myself wanting it to be over after about 10 minutes. The acting isn't good and niether is the plot I know it's a true story but they made this killer look like a guy with no life. It actually shows his life in detail how he goes to work, meet people etc who cares? Was this review helpful? Yes

This movie was absolutely horrible, I caught it when it was on one of the Starz channels, first off the murders took place in Chicago not L.A. most of them occurred in the winter time not summer. and third and most important is the film does not show what the families of the victims went through. The pain and misery of losing a child. The suffering that they will endure the rest of their lives. To make a movie and make them relive it is disgusting. Was this review helpful? Yes

Covers only a portion of this monster's life, so alot is left untold. Not overly graphic, but extremely disturbing when one considers the volume, nature and concealment of his crimes. Unbelievable that he was not found-out sooner. Acting only ok; setting only ok; suspense level oddly lacking. A bit of a quirky approach, with occasional shock-value scenes and dialogue. This is a rebutile to the person who said that, anyone who did not already know anything about gacy, still wouldn't know about him after watching this HORRIBLE movie. Well, I watched it back when I was 16 and I only heard about him being a killer. After I watched this movie I knew more about him and what I didn't know I looked up. But This is a GREAT movie. And yes, it does tell you a little about him, maybe not everything like you were/are hoping but it does tell you a lot. So glad this movie was made. Was this review helpful? Yes
