3/12 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Kultur has produced another valuable disc. This one features LEGENDARY dancers of an era that has passed. iI did not know that Kolpakova was captured on film! Alessandra Ferri/Juliet looks 16, ANTHONY DOWELL became artistic director of the Royal! And you can enjoy a taste of the power and grace of Barishnikov at his best! I wish they had done a different casting in Sleeping Beauty, because Darcy was the best AURORA. Companies include the Royal, Paris Opera, Kirov, ABT. Highlights include Bayadere, Don Q,, Nutcracker, Romeo/Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Fil Mal Gardee. A GREAT disc for any dance student, should be required. For others, beautiful dancers performing the best of their craft in classical form. If you don't know what ballet is like, this is a good taste of it. Lots of tutus, lots of legs in white tights, for both men and women! I think I will buy a copy for my little girl to enjoy over and over again.
