Director Erwin Leiser is most known for this documentary that borrows the title of Hitler's rantings in book form, to present the true story of his rise and fall. (Leiser himself had to flee Germany to escape Nazi persecution.) Using film clips of the result of Nazi atrocities in the death camps and previously unseen footage from the Warsaw Ghetto, Leiser has put together a devastating picture of barbaric inhumanity. He leads up to the outcome of Hitler's insane policies by using still photos, newspaper excerpts, and newsreel footage to detail the German dictator's rise to power. The documentary leaves one major question: how could this homicidal lunatic have been left unchecked to lead the world into the worst conflagration it has ever known? ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

I have always had a morbid fascination with horror and serial killers and this movie encompasses both. I think "Mein Kampf" is a true mini-representation of the motivations and actions taken by Hitler and the Nazis prior to and during WWII. My revulsion with the Nazi depredations has led me to question why we humans do what we do. Having been stationed in Germany for 12 years, my local national friends and I discussed why the U.S. still "occupied" their country (I left in 1993), however the "final solution" to the "Jewish question" and the German people's passive collaboration in the exterminations were taboo. "Mein Kampf" had many clips I had already seen and many I had not. I think this movie, along with "Judgement At Nuremberg" , "Genocide" , "Silent Witness" and "The Boy In The Striped Pajamas" should be mandatory viewing in High School history classes. Those who do not know history are destined to repeat it.
