John Sayles' Casa de los Babys tells the tale of a half-dozen American women who travel to Latin America in order to pick up their adopted children. They all stay at the same motel while they each wade through the bureaucracy. Sharing with each other their fears, hopes, dreams, and frustrations at the thoughts of becoming mothers comprises the majority of the drama in the film. I was thoroughly enjoying the great acting and dialogue in this movie until suddenly--out of nowhere--it ended.

Big names but not big interest. I thought it would be great because of all the big names in this movie, but it was such a bad indie film....but then I usually do not like indie films. It's about a bunch of women that sit around waiting to adopt a baby. Does this really happen? I don't know, but while they are waiting, they are gossiping, stealing, and being hated by the native people. And then, it just ends. It just ends! Horrible, horrible movie.
