Rumored and anticipated for years, the two biggest icons of the slasher genre finally meet in Freddy Vs. Jason, the eighth entry in the Nightmare on Elm Street saga and the 11th film in the Friday the 13th series, though with Jason X taking place in the future, it should be noted that the events of this film take place after the ninth film Jason Goes to Hell. And it is hell where Freddy Kreuger (Robert Englund) and Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger, donning the hockey mask for the first time in a controversial snub against series veteran Kane Hodder) finally become acquainted. Banished there for eternity, Freddy devises a plan to manipulate Jason into continuing his work, hacking up the teenagers of Elm Street. All goes well at first until Jason realizes he's been duped by "the dream master" and is none too pleased. Coaxed by surviving teenagers Will (Jason Ritter), Lori (Monica Keena), and Kia (Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland), Jason and Freddy descend upon Crystal Lake for a mano a mano battle royal. Helmed by Hong Kong director Ronny Yu (Bride of Chucky, The Bride With the White Hair), Freddy Vs. Jason features the director of the first Friday film, Sean S. Cunningham serving as producer. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi

Yeah they bent Jason's backstory...and the wooden acting of the potential victims is distracting...but this flick earns its "R" rating withing the first 2 minutes of its start and it never lets up from there. A frenetic pace, bewbies, foul language, drug use, and AFTER all of the Freddy and Jason fight in a quasi kung-fu vs. brawler wire-works extravaganza. This is my feel-good movie. Every single minute of its running time is a joy of joys.

Excellent cross-over movie!!! Putting these two together was a brilliant idea. Freddy & Jason together. Never going to get better than that. This is something everybody will enjoy, get it immediatley.

The worst entry in the Friday series.

The plot was very good and very unpredictable. The problem is that this movie is so rushed and past paced. It needed to build suspense. Also there was way too much comedy going on and it was way too cartoony

This was a great movie. I was impressed. I originally thought this was going to be another stupid Friday the 13th . Great storyline.

I always found it entertaing and thought it blends the two worlds good and Robert Englund will always be the best Freddy Kreuger and jason always is a brutal force and the ending fight scene between the iconic killer was great.

This movie should not be under horror, it should be under comedy because it is hilarious and not even remotely scary in any way. For horror I give it 1 star, for comedy I give it 4, so I'll just give it a 3.

this movie was just telling the story all over again just in a shorter way it really did not have a plot and it was not that scary they should build up some suspense and had nohing to do do with vs. other than that, it was well made.

This movie was so bad, I would have rather stayed in class than skipped so I could watch it. I couldn't tell if it was a horror or comedy. The fights between Freddy and Jason were all one-sided until Freddy gets pulled into the "real world" in which Jason then delivers the butt-whoopings. The ending is absolutely retarded too. None of the actors were good, the entire plot was just stupid and worse yet, it doesn't even carry on from the last Jason movie (which if I remember correctly, was "Jason Goes to Hell"). So how did Jason just come out of the ground if he was in Hell? Anyway, if you just like horrors or are a Freddy/Jason fan, you will end up seeing this crap anyway, but for anybody else, do yourself a favor and leave this one on the shelf.
