A youngster learns a valuable lesson about family, friendship, and love in this family drama from South Korea. Sang-woo (Yu Seung-ho) is a seven-year-old boy whose parents are divorced, and whose Mother (Dong Hyo-heui) has decided she needs a break from parenthood for the summer. Mother sends Sang-woo to the country to spend some time with his Grandmother (Kim Eul-bun), who is quite old, in poor health, and cannot speak. Sang-woo doesn't much care for his Grandmother, and prefers to spend his time playing with his hand-held video game rather than have anything to do with her. When the batteries die out in his game machine, Sang-woo heads into town to replace them, but before long, he gets lost with no way to find his way back to Grandmother's house. Eventually, two kids (Min Kyung-hun and Yim Eun-kyung) help Sang-woo find Grandmother's home, and he resigns himself to spending the summer with her. As time goes on, the wall between them begins to collapse, and Sang-woo comes to realize how much his Grandmother really means to him. A massive commercial success in its native South Korea, Jibeuro out-grossed Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring during its initial release on its home turf. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

A quietly powerful demonstration of patience and love - a good lesson for all. The child's conflict and learning are beautifully acted by this young boy. The grandmother is deep and loving and infinitely understanding. I really enjoyed it. It was refreshing, unique and enjoyable for all ages. It is not, however, an action packed movie - so if you are looking for a fast slick movie, this isn't it. I loved it.

I loved this movie. I will always remember it. It is not action packed, thrilling, or a laugh a minute. What this young boy learns is what we all must learn in order to survive. Although it is spoken in the Korean language with English sub-titles below it is still an interesting slow paced movie.

This movie was amazing. I rented it because I recently visited South Korea for a quick vacation. I do not know how to understand the Korean language at all, but I wanted to check out a movie made there. For one, there aren't alot of subtitles to read in this movie so you can relax and just watch be entertained. Fabulous movie for anyone to watch. Any age.

The things the boy did made me so angry. Even with that said i thought it was a good movie! Even as he was the so called "villan" ... i felt sorry for him in the end. A well thought out movie.

My sister gave me a hard time for renting a movie that we had to "read", but as soom as we started to watch it, we were hooked. We talked about it for days and I recommend highly. I will buy it so that I can watch it over and over and borrow it to my friends.

This was a very moving yet basically simple movie. It was a soothing film in a complicated world. The young boy did a great acting job.

Very touching, something everyone can see and learn from and identify with.Shows the generation gap between boy and grand-ma like never before.

The actor who plays Sang-woo (Yu Seung-ho) gives an amazing performance for such a young boy. The woman who portrays his grandmother also does a great job. Even though she does not speak, she clearly conveys the grandmother's strength, character, and kindness.

I love this movie, so sad but also so real. A mom's love is unconditional. Although the brat really got me pissed. This movie is so good even my kids enjoyed it.....with subtitles and all.

Touching but exceedingly predictable. Plot: * Kid is a spoiled dick and goes to live with grandma. * Grandma is old and lives a materially inferior lifestyle. * Grandma teaches dick child to enjoy her lifestyle. * Kid leaves Grandma and is sad about doing so. You learn precious little about grandma in the process: she remains one-dimensional. Anyways...
