Two of the biggest stars of the French cinema bring their contrasting styles together in this lively romantic comedy. Rose (Juliette Binoche) is an emotional makeup artist who is hoping to get out of a bad relationship with her boyfriend, Sergio (Sergi Lopez), by leaving him in Paris and heading off to Mexico for a holiday. After losing her cell phone, Rose borrows one from Felix (Jean Reno), a somewhat stiff salesman with an interest in gourmet cooking, who is en route toMunich to attend a funeral. When both Rose and Felix find themselves grounded due to changes in flight scheduling and a transportation strike strands them at the airport, they end up sharing a room at a nearby hotel, where their contrasting personalities make the evening rough sledding for them both. As their unexpected stay wears on, will these opposites begin to attract? ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

both characters are charming and flawed. they manage to escape themselves long enough to find they actually care about one another. it's a nice little fim.

I don't think that you have to have a penchant for foreign films to appreciate this film. I loved this movie--both actors are excellent!!

I loved this movie. very easy watch, both reno and binoche excel as being both likable and at times irritating/human/weird take your pick. The movie does a smart job making subtle and some not so subtle comments on France, and the US; there are some pretty good one-liners throughout as well. The story is pretty typical boy/girl stuff but told in a way thats not always predictable and not too sappy until the end (which by then i was ok with). easily worth spending a few hours to sit down and watch some random night.

Perhaps it is my love for Binoche and Reno that led me to love this film. In any accord, it is their acting that caused me to rent this film in the first place. How lovely. The plot is intriguing. The ending is one you wish for and the spaces between the beginning and middle are a joy to follow. This movie was very good.

Engaging, with just enough of a romantic edge to be believable. Very enjoyable, especially having been to Europe earlier this year, I saw the dubbed version on cable the next day and liked this one better with subtitles.

Two excellent actors stuck with an extremely bad script

Terrific movie. A bit of French slapstick, self-deprecating, unusual setting, and great food scenes. A real charmer.
