Firefly [TV Series] (2002)
Member Rating:
Created by Joss Whedon (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Firefly was an "outer-space Western" set some four to five centuries in the future. Nathan Fillion starred as Captain Mal Reynolds, a disillusioned interplanetary-war veteran and outlaw of the Alliance, the current ruling government. Reynolds was skipper of the transport ship Serenity, a "Firefly-class" vessel. The cast of characters included Inara (Morena Baccarin), a doctor named Simon (Sean Maher), and a mystical preacher named Book (Ron Glass). Firefly made its American network debut on September 20, 2002, on Fox; it was cancelled after only 14 episodes. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This show is one of the best ever made and everybody should watch it. The story is great, the charctors are amazing and I could just go on forever. This show even did something that is almost impossible and that is get a movie after it was canceled. This is a must buy!

I am very sad there is only one season. I still haven't finished the last 2 episodes in disc 3, but i will surely cry when i do.

I loved the first disc. Excellent space western with great characters. The disc2 blu-ray wouldn't play in either of my blu-ray players. Disc looked fine, but something is wrong with it.

This series was a bit of a let down after hearing so much about it. It really did not live up to all the hype for me. It doesn't come close to great series like Soprano's, Dexter, Tutor's, Rome, Band of Brothers or Breaking Bad as examples. All of which I couldn't wait until I got the next episode, not with this. Fortunately there was only one season (hum..wonder why) to watch so it didn't take up too much of my time. I actually thought the movie conclusion wasn't so bad but of course you would have to watch the serious first to understand it. Yes, I got into the characters finally but it took to long and by then the series was over. Some episodes where interesting but most where weak.

Watching the entire series. Average series. No standouts to shout about - CHUCK *going into it's 4th season) is so far above this series...rent or buy that series and get hooked on very good programming
